RIYADH: Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi announced a new presidential leadership council and transferred his power to it, according to a televised statement. The president also announced the removal of his vice president, Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, from his post. The new body will manage the state politically, militarily and on the security front. The council has the ability to announce a state of emergency if needed, according to the statement read on behalf of the president by the information minister, Muammar Al-Eryani.
