The CEO of Saudi Fund for Development Sultan Bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad received here Tuesday the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Khaled Khalifa and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed the most prominent regional and global developments in refugee affairs and the global trends in displacement, which reached record levels, as well as topics of common interest between the two sides contributing to achieving sustainable development goals for refugee beneficiaries in various countries of the world. Khaled Khalifa praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia in the field of development and humanitarian work, which extends over the past years, pointing to the depth of the relationship between the Saudi Fund for Development and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, extending over more than ten years, and benefiting more than five million refugees around the world. He stressed that this joint cooperation has alleviated the suffering of the conditions of humanitarian asylum, and made a difference in the lives of forcibly displaced families in light of the increasing needs and humanitarian crises that extend for many years. It is worth noting that the Kingdom has a proven track record in the field of humanitarian and development support through the Saudi Fund for Development in supporting multiple programs in various humanitarian and development fields for international organizations. — SPA
