The Secretary-General of Etidal, the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology, Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, received here on Thursday a delegation of members of the US Congress, which included Utah Representative Chris Stewart (R), Pennsylvania Representative Guy Reschenthaler (R), and Michigan Representative Lisa McClain (R). The delegation members were briefed on Etidal"s work strategies, as they toured the command and control department, during which they learned about the monitoring and analysis mechanism, the most prominent techniques used, and the models that are being built and developed within the center. Rep. Chris Stewart said, "The effort here is very great compared to a global problem. It"s inspiring and encouraging. We are grateful for the work you"re doing, and I will certainly support and encourage it. I was thinking during my tour of the center about how to create a commitment to fighting extremism and ideological extremism in an effective way." Rep. Lisa McClain said: "My impression is that the center is absolutely amazing. It is trying to unite communities and the whole world to fight extremists proactively. What you"re doing is great and the first building block for fighting extremism." Rep. Guy Reschenthaler said: "First of all, I"m very impressed not only with the facility but also with the development and the commitment of the individuals here. I think there are a lot of ways of cooperation with the United States and allies and global organizations to make sure that we get information and analyze it to understand extremism." — SPA
