RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed a cooperation agreement on Monday with the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization to improve the livelihoods of the families of Yemeni farmers, livestock owners, and fishermen. The agreement is worth $8 million and will benefit 34,500 families in 14 districts in the Yemeni governorates of Abyan, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, and Al-Mahra. KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah and FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu co-signed the agreement. The agreement aims to support farmers, livestock owners, and fishermen, protect working and conflict-affected families, and improve access to fish landing sites. It also aims to increase food production capacity and animal production, and develop the capabilities of staff at the Yemeni Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries so they can provide beneficiary families with training.
