Saudi Arabia’s prosthetics center provides vital services in Yemen

MARIB: The prosthetic limbs and physical rehabilitation center in Marib governorate, Yemen, has continued to provide medical services for Yemenis through the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. The center provided 380 services to hundreds of beneficiaries in one month, including the manufacturing, fitting, delivery and maintenance of prosthetic limbs for 71 patients. The center also provided other treatments for 301 patients, including physical therapy and consultation sessions. Meanwhile, Al-Jada Health Center outlets in Hajjah governorate provided treatment to 4,060 people in one week with the support of KSrelief. NUM BER $4bn KSrelief has implemented 708 projects in Yemen, costing more than $4 billion The mobile medical clinics of KSrelief also provided treatment services for 426 patients in Hajjah governorate. It included clinics for epidemiology, emergencies, internal medicine, children’s health, reproductive health, nutritional therapy, immunization, awareness and education, surgery and surgical dressing. The services are part of the Kingdom’s efforts, represented by KSrelief, to improve the capacities of the health sector in Yemen. Yemen is among the top beneficiaries of KSrelief assistance. The center has implemented 708 projects in Yemen, costing more than $4 billion. Its programs include food security, water sanitation and hygiene, health, education, emergency aid, nutrition, protection, early recovery, logistics and telecommunication. Worldwide, KSrelief has implemented 2,025 projects worth almost $6 billion in 80 countries. The initiatives have been carried out in cooperation with 175 local, regional and international partners since the inception of the center in May 2015.
