Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) revealed the steps that are taken in the event of seizure of prohibited materials and goods at Saudi customs ports. ZATCA indicated that it confiscates the content of the shipment and then it creates a seizure report, in addition to imposing a fine on the importer, as well as destroying it at the port. It is noteworthy that ZATCA has announced the goods prohibited to be imported into Saudi Arabia and their classifications on its website: https://e-services.zatca.gov.sa/en/general/prohibited-goods It confirmed that it is prohibited to import pigs and all that is extracted from them into Saudi Arabia, including their meat, fat, hair, blood and offal, in addition to frog meat. Also prohibited, in addition to the nutmeg and its pure powder are drugs of all kinds and forms; the Cola Acuminata; Indian pan (tanbol) or Betel-pepper and any drink bearing the name of ZamZam. The prohibitions also include the import of alcoholic wines and intoxicants of all kinds; Al-Shama and Suiqa material (Chewing Tobacco); asbestos products and materials; industrial waste and hazardous waste; pharmaceutical waste, chemical and related industries waste, municipal waste, sewage waste (mud); Raw natural organic fertilizers generated by animal or vegetable origin and fireworks used by children, such as skyrockets, matches, and night stars. Also prohibited are used or reconditioned exterior tires; copies of the Holy Qur’an printed for business purposes; electronic copy of the Holy Qur’an; Saudi postage stamps; ready-to-use marks of the sacrificial animal; white invoices addressing foreign companies" names abroad; paper circuits greeting cards and security vehicle radar detectors. ZATCA also added that, it is prohibited to import cars exposed to accidents or used as cars for taxi or the police or classified (salvage) of all kinds, which have previously been exposed to accidents of drowning, fire, collision, overturning, or otherwise, even if their import was for dismantling and selling spare parts and right-hand drive vehicles and with adjustable use from right to the left hand. Motorcycles designated for children with two, three, and four wheels whose height does not exceed (50) cm on the wheel"s axle, as well as motorcycles operated by batteries if their speed exceeds (10) kilometers per hour are also prohibited. The prohibitive list includes, binoculars that use an electrical circuit that emits a red light to appear directly on the target, or an electrical circuit that emits a red light that appears on the lens inside the endoscope or x-rays for night vision; firearms in the shape of a mobile phone, a cigarette lighter, a pager, a pen, and white weapons (knives) in the shape of a mobile phone, a cigarette lighter, a pager, or a pen and pistols, starting guns, and pistols similar in shape to the real pistol. It is prohibited to import embalmed animal; all food items that are manufactured by animal blood; all kinds of tools, machines, and devices used for gambling; war remnants on Kuwait and Iraq of equipment and machinery and goods and promotional materials for the smoking of all kinds. ZATCA added that the prohibitions also include, the products of Israeli origin or bearing Israeli logos; goods contaminated with radiation and nuclear dust (such as trophy watches); three-dimensional of the Holy Kaaba, the cross, Christmas trees, the electronic Mihrab (niche), and any products that are inconsistent with Islamic teachings; alarm devices used for security vehicles and remote control drones and spare parts.
