Nottingham Forest have completed the signings of the Nigeria striker Emmanuel Dennis from Watford and the former Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté. The 24-year-old Dennis scored 10 goals for the Hornets in the Premier League last season but could not help to keep them up. He featured in Watford’s opening two Championship matches but was not part of the squad for Friday night’s win over Burnley as he finalised a switch to the City Ground. “Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm the signing of striker Emmanuel Dennis from Watford,” a club statement read. No terms were disclosed by Forest, with a reported £20m fee having been agreed. Steve Cooper has strengthened his squad with 15 signings during the summer transfer window – at a cost of just under £110m – and there is no sign that the club’s spending is over. Forest have also been linked with the Brighton forward Neal Maupay, who was left out of Saturday’s squad against Newcastle, while they maintain an interest in the Wolves winger Morgan Gibbs-White. The Senegal international midfielder Kouyaté left Crystal Palace earlier this summer after failing to agree a new deal with the south-east London club. The 32-year-old, who has won 82 international caps, has signed a two-year contract at the City Ground.
