JEDDAH: The International Islamic Fiqh Academy and the Malaysian University of Islamic Sciences have signed a memorandum of cooperation to pursue a joint study of contemporary issues and other scientific and research capabilities. Under the memorandum, which was signed by the academy’s secretary-general, Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, and the university’s director, Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, the two sides will organize joint conferences and seminars, hold workshops and training programs, and exchange publications. Sano expressed his aspiration that the memorandum would constitute an opportunity for the IIFA to benefit from the scientific expertise and capabilities of the university, by encouraging its researchers from various faculties and institutes to participate in the academy’s sessions, seminars, and conferences. The academy is a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and is headquartered in Jeddah.
