The two officials discussed the latest developments in the country, as well as the efforts of both their governments to achieve peace in Yemen Yemen’s Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ahmad Awadh BinMubarak and US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin reviewed Washington’s commitment to providing Yemen with humanitarian aid and military support, the Yemen News Agency (SABA) reported. The two officials discussed the latest developments in the country, as well as the efforts of both their governments to achieve peace in Yemen, according to SABA. The minister emphasized the importance of implementing all articles of the UN truce, ending the Houthis’ violations in the country, immediately reopening the roads to Taiz, and ensuring the salaries from Hodeida Ports’ revenues are paid, SABA said. BinMubarak also praised the US for its continuous support, especially its humanitarian efforts, and the economic support it provided to the Yemeni government to help it achieve economic stability, SABA reported. The US ambassador highlighted the more than $1 billion aid provided by his government and reaffirmed that the US would provide support to Yemen’s Coast Guard and Border Forces as part of efforts to fight terrorism, according to SABA. He also confirmed the US’ commitment to achieving peace in Yemen and renewed the administration’s support of the Presidential Leadership Council.
