Situated in Al-Jouf, Dumat Al-Jandal is the night hikers’ go-to destination during summer. The governorate has many attractive sites for tourists, providing hikers with an open-air adventure. In addition, Dumat Al-Jandal is one of the favorite destinations for citizens in Al-Jouf and the Kingdom’s Northern Borders region, thanks to its diverse features, environment, and rich history. Among the top attractions is Dumat Al-Jandal Lake, where visitors can enjoy aqua sports, including sailing and jet skiing, as well as relaxing on its banks. Activities also include horse riding, and the area has children’s playgrounds, food carts, and other local family businesses. The governorate has many large green spaces, giving its evenings a moderate climate, perfect for walks and sports. Numerous cafes and restaurants also span it, serving hikers and other tourists. Dumat Al-Jandal is considered one of the biggest repositories in the Kingdom of antiquities and historical curiosities, from the majestic Marid Castle to the Mosque of Omar, and from Jabal Al-Tahkim to Dumat Al-Jandal wall. The governorate also has a museum that enables its visitors to learn more about the history of the region. Visitors can tours ancient sites, including traditional farms, for a glimpse of how local communities developed and thrive to this day. Thanks to its proximity to Al-Nafud desert, the governorate allows its visitors to go on wild walks or have a picnic during winter times in places such as Layga Wild Park.
