RIYADH: Omans envoy to Saudi Arabia met on Monday with the chief executive officer of the National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNPS) and discussed the center’s role in the development of society and the economy. With officials from the Omani Embassy and the center attending, Ambassador Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al-Said and CEO Ahmed bin Ali Al-Suwailem discussed issues of common interest and also reviewed the process of establishing the center, as well as its role in empowering nonprofit sector organizations and activating national development, SPA reported. The center was established by Saudi Cabinet Resolution No. 459 in April 2019. It enjoys legal status as well as financial and administrative independence, and is directly linked to the prime minister. The center aims to organize, activate and expand the role of nonprofit organizations in the development field, and work to integrate government efforts in providing licensing services to the organizations, as well as financial, administrative and technical supervision, support and coordination.  The visit comes as part of diplomatic efforts by the NCNPS to introduce the center and its roles and objectives, in addition to promoting the field of development and the growth of the nonprofit sector. At the end of the visit, Al-Suwailem presented a souvenir to the Omani ambassador. The envoy praised Omani and Saudi bilateral ties, hailing the shared visions of the countries. The ambassador noted the concordance between the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and Oman’s Vision 2040. Bilateral ties are approaching a new stage in the political, security, military, economic, development and human resources domains, he added.
