Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan will lead Saudi Arabia"s delegation to the 77th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Saudi delegation will include Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, Princess Rima Bint Bandar Bin Sultan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rasi, and the Kingdom"s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel. The Kingdom"s participation this year discusses strategies and policies to promote economic and health recovery from global crises and the promotion of multilateral joint action to achieve prosperity throughout the world. The Kingdom"s delegation under the presidency of Prince Faisal will participate in the ministerial meeting of the GCC States with the United States +4 (Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Yemen). Prince Faisal will also chair the Gulf side at a number of ministerial meetings of the Gulf Cooperation Council with China, the United Kingdom, Russia, France and the European Union, as well as participating in the annual coordinating ministerial meeting of foreign ministers of the OIC member States. The foreign minister will also attend the high-level event on the Rohingya crisis organized by Bangladesh in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the World Summit on Food Security, the Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), COVID-19 Global Action Plan Ministerial Meeting and the Global Response Group on Food, Energy and Finance. Saudi Arabia"s participation in the work of the General Assembly of the United Nations underscores the importance of multilateral action, enhancing the active presence in the international landscape, affirming the Kingdom"s consistent positions vis-à-vis the common challenges facing the region and the world.
