Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi attended the Fifth International Conference on Occupational Safety and Health, coinciding with the Fourth Arab Conference on Occupational Safety and Health under the slogan "Renaissance and Safety", at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, and will run from Oct. 3-5. During his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference, Al-Rajhi praised the legislation, procedures, and initiatives taken by the Kingdom’s leadership to take care of work environments and enhance occupational safety and health in the business sector, which had a positive impact on reducing the costs of work injuries and enhancing the efficiency of facilities. He also praised the important contributions of the private sector, the cooperation of the private sector and its outstanding response to occupational safety and health legislation, and initiatives that reflect the keenness to provide safe, healthy, and sustainable work environments that raise the level of the Saudi labor market. He added that the ministry will continue with its partners from specialized agencies locally, regionally and internationally the story of change for the better. This conference represents one of the most important events in the Kingdom in occupational safety and health, as it aims to raise awareness within the work environment concerning occupational safety and health practices. It also emphasizes the Kingdom’s keenness and pioneering role in developing occupational safety and health locally, regionally, and internationally, in addition to highlighting the most prominent technical and technological trends in occupational safety and health. It also stresses the Kingdom’s encouragement of research and studies in prevention, and providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and present the best global practices and experiences through experts and specialists at the local, regional and international levels. The conference also includes various events that include working papers presented by specialists, training workshops with accredited certificates, and interactive simulators. — SPA
