Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, chaired here Wednesday a ministerial meeting to approve the charter and governance of the Middle East Green Initiative, which includes regional governance and the initiative’s work methodology. The meeting was attended by ministers and officials from 20 countries from Asia and Africa continents, and a number of international and regional organizations. In his speech, Al-Fadhli said that the meeting is an important step towards activating the Middle East Green Initiative, as it aims to frame joint action among the countries of the region, to cooperate and promote environmental protection and development, achieve the ambitious goals of the initiative, and contribute to the economic development of the region. At the end of the meeting, Al-Fadhli announced the ministerial approval of the charter and governance document of the Middle East Green Initiative, including the regional governance of the initiative and its scope of work. — SPA
