Saudi, Algerian ministers discuss bilateral ties

ALGIERS: Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji met Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra in Algiers, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday. The meeting was held on the sidelines of Al-Khuraiji’s participation in a preparatory session held as a prelude to the 31st Arab Summit. During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen ties, as well as the latest regional and international developments. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Algeria Abdullah Al-Bussairy and the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the Arab League, Abdulrahman Al-Jumaa. The Palestinian issue is expected to top the agenda at the Arab Summit, which will also involve discussions on relations with Africa and Europe at various levels. It will be held in Algeria on Nov. 1-2. Algerian officials have announced the completion of arrangements for the event. The country’s official news agency, APS, published a video on the preparations, describing the event as “the most important in the history of the Arab summits.”
