Riyadh governor opens Global Cybersecurity Forum 2022; 120 international speakers taking part

On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, governor of the Riyadh Region, inaugurated this morning the 2nd edition of the Global Cybersecurity Forum, which is organized by the National Cybersecurity Authority Under the theme “Rethinking the Global Cyber Order”. The two-day event hosts 120 high-level international speakers from more than 100 countries. In a speech delivered at the opening ceremony, governor of Riyadh Region said that the cybersecurity sector is witnessing rapid development, with which the pace of challenges facing this vital sector is escalating, making strengthening the concerted international efforts in cyber security more urgent than ever. Prince Faisal stressed that Saudi Arabia was keen, through its Vision 2030, to enhance its developmental, social and economic gains in all fields, including the field of cybersecurity, which was received great care and support from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman. The Kingdom ranked second internationally in the Global Cybersecurity Index for the year 2021. Prince Faisal called on all partners around the world to work with the Global Cybersecurity Forum to reach a safe and reliable cyberspace that enables growth and prosperity for all the peoples of the world. He also welcomed the attendance and guests of the forum in Riyadh, wishing that it achieves the hoped-for success and its noble goals. The forum will witness holding more than 30 dialogue sessions dealing with five major themes affecting the future of Cyberspace, namely: Cyber Economics, Geo-Cyber Evolution, Future of Cyber Work, No One Left Behind, and Disruption Frontier. — SPA
