RIYADH: Indonesian and Sri Lankan performers have been delighting crowds of spectators at Al-Suwaidi Park this week as part of Riyadh Season 2022. The park is one of 15 entertainment zones being used for the celebrations and has been home to a range of activities organized as part of Indonesian and Sri Lankan Community Week, which ends on Saturday. Dancers, musicians and other artists have staged a range of performances that reflect the fascinating folklore and rich cultures of the two nations. There were also lots of tasty treats on offer in the Indonesian pavilion, where visitors could tuck into traditional dishes like bakmi goreng — fried rice or noodles with vegetables, eggs and meat — and nasi uduk — rice cooked with coconut milk, meat and vegetables. Al-Suwaidi Park is a major landmark in Riyadh, covering more than 10 hectares. Opened in 1983, it features a family garden, walking and running tracks, seating areas, restaurants and cafes, and children’s play areas. Riyadh Season 2022 encompasses a host of entertainment activities, including firework displays, concerts and local and international shows.
