Saudi Arabia’s national football team will meet Croatia, the defending World Cup runners-up, in a friendly match here on Wednesday. Green Falcons continued their practice in their Riyadh camp on Monday, in preparation for the friendly match as part of the fourth and final phase of the preparatory program for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which kicks off on November 20. During their practice sessions in Abu Dhabi earlier, the team played five friendly matches against the teams of Macedonia, Albania, Honduras, Iceland, and Panama. The national team players continued their training session at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium under the supervision of Coach Herve Renard. It began with warm-up exercises and then passing drills, and it was followed by division into two groups, to conclude the training session with stretching exercises. Green Falcons will conclude their preparations on Tuesday with a training session at 1.00 pm and it will be open to the media. Renard announced on Friday the 26-member Green Falcons squad for the World Cup. There are 16 debutants while 10 players were part of the team that played in the Russia World Cup 2018. Midfielder Salman Al-Faraj is the captain. Renard has excluded six players from the final squad. The final squad members resumed their practice in their Riyadh camp on Sunday, after the 48-hour break following their preparatory camp held in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi camp was from October 17 to November 10, as part of the third phase of the preparatory program for the World Cup.
