Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Turki Al-Sheikh, the Black Hat, the world"s largest technology event, was launched on Tuesday in its first edition in the Middle East and North Africa, at a huge ceremony held in Riyadh. The event was organized by Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SFCPD) in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, in the presence of a number of princess, ministers and senior officials. Al-Sheikh welcomed participants who came from various countries, and expressed happiness at organizing and hosting the biggest technology event at an international level. This, he said, indicated that Saudi Arabia enjoys big confidence and boosts its pioneering and global status in digital and technological fields. He also said that all previous and current achievements would not have been realized without the support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman. He said that hosting Black Hat is part of the Authority’s efforts to realize targets of the Saudi Vision 2030, where hundreds of young Saudis compete with their peers from 35 countries in the biggest competition of its kind at the international level. — SPA
