DUBAI: US actress Kate Hudson turned heads in an Elie Saab gown this week on the blue carpet for the premiere of her murder mystery film “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” in Los Angeles. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @arabnews.lifestyle She wore a sheer gown by the renowned Lebanese designer-to-the-stars. The floor-length dress, from the couturier’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, was fully sequined, backless and featured a turtleneck collar. The movie, written and directed by US filmmaker Rian Johnson, tells the story of tech billionaire Miles Bron who invites his friends for a getaway on his Greek private island. The story takes a turn when someone turns up dead and detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, is put on the case. Hudson stars as Birdie Jay, a former supermodel turned fashion designer. “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is a sequel to the 2019 movie “Knives Out.” The second part of the movie stars a new ensemble cast that includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, and Dave Bautista. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September. It is scheduled to have a one-week limited theatrical release on Nov. 23, before being released on Netflix on Dec. 23 for viewers in the Middle East and beyond. The “Bride Wars” star was joined on the blue carpet by her longtime partner, fiancé Danny Fujikawa. Hudson was not the only star who championed Saab on the blue carpet. Fellow actress Janelle Monáe stepped out in a black-and-red ensemble by the couturier. The feathered gown, which is also from Saab’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, featured cut outs around the chest area. Saab has had an eventful week. On Saturday, Tiffany Trump, the daughter of former US President Donald Trump, wore a custom-made Grecian-style gown – designed by Saab – as she tied the knot with Lebanese-born businessman Michael Boulos at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida. Tiffany chose her wedding dress as a nod to Boulos’s heritage. “It’s a Lebanese American wedding, so we were so happy to have Elie Saab create the magic,” said mother of the bride Marla Maples, according to People magazine.
