Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman has directed all the Saudi ministries, authorities, and government agencies to provide any additional support or facilities needed by their counterparts in Qatar to support their efforts in hosting the World Cup 2022, which begins Sunday, Nov. 20. This was announced by Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal. He stated that the Crown Prince directed minister of sports to follow up on this and submit to him the first-hand report in this regard. The Saudi authorities have geared up all the arrangements and facilities for the World Cup fans to facilitate their travel to Qatar crossing Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Sports announced earlier that more than 500 volunteers from Saudi Arabia will participate in the Qatar World Cup 2022. Ibrahim Al-Qassem, secretary general of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, revealed that there will be 5,000 Green Falcons fans who have been placed in the Saudi national team’s league, in preparation for the World Cup. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Saudi Arabia would welcome all the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans who are holders of the Hayya Card to spend up to 60 days in the Kingdom during the World Cup season. All the Saudi land and airports have completed the preparations. There are five airports operating the World Cup flights, and they are King Khalid International Airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport, King Fahd International Airport, Prince Naif International Airport, and Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport. Saudi Airlines announced plans to launch shuttle flights to Doha from multiple Saudi cities during the world cup match period. The Saudi Public Transport Authority has enhanced the frequency of shuttle services between the Saudi border point Salwa and the Qatari border point Abu Samra, by deploying 55 buses dedicated to transporting fans wishing to attend the World Cup matches in Qatar.
