It highlights the shellfish around the world that produce pearls, including those found in Bahrain, and will host a discussion about the differences between natural, cultured and imitation pearls. It will also inform visitors about the traditional diving equipment and tools used by pearl divers, as well as the types, shapes and sizes of natural pearls. Visitors will also be able to have a go at oyster shucking. The Rising Stars pavilion puts emerging jewelry designers and brands in the spotlight. And Francesca Cartier Brickell, a direct descendant of the Cartier family, will give a talk and sign copies of her book “The Cartiers: Untold Story of the Family Behind the Jewelry Empire.” Organizers said that Jewellery Arabia will also host a variety of innovative workshops and other programs as part of its mission to become a leading learning platform for jewelry enthusiasts. Dubai Design Academy will present a number of courses, from the fundamentals of jewelry illustration to more advanced courses for professionals who want to develop and advance their careers. Visitors will also have the opportunity to create their own fragrances and learn about the dynamics of perfume production. The exhibition continues until Saturday.
