Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that he will discuss with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deepening bilateral relations between their countries during his visit to Saudi Arabia. Xi had arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday on an official visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of King Salman. Upon his arrival, he declared that he will work together with Saudi officials on developing Chinese-Saudi relations. They will also discuss international and regional issues of interest. Xi expressed his happiness at returning to the Kingdom after six years. He is set to attend the Chinese-Saudi summit and the inaugural Chinese-Gulf summit. Xi said he was keen on working with Gulf leaders to elevate relations to new levels. He stressed that China and Saudi Arabia enjoy close relations of friendship, partnership and fraternity that have persisted throughout the 32 years since they established their diplomatic ties. The cooperation between them has yielded fruit in all fields, he remarked. Moreover, he said China and Saudi Arabia are in constant contact and close coordination over regional and international affairs. He noted that since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between them in 2016, he and King Salman have been steering the bilateral ties to achieve greater development. This has reflected positively on the people of China and Saudi Arabia and greatly contributed to consolidating peace, stability, prosperity and growth in the region, he added.
