London, Jumada I 29, 1434, Apr 10, 2013, SPA - The civil war in Syria topped the agenda at a meeting of G8 foreign ministers Wednesday. Rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula were also expected to feature prominently during the two-day talks in London. "This is about preventing conflict, resolving conflict, dealing with its consequences - that means top of the agenda will be dealing with Syria and the situation in Syria, which continues to get worse," host British Foreign Secretary William Hague told BBC television. The Group of 8 brings together some of the world's leading economies and comprises Britain, the United States, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, Russia and Italy. The main meeting of G8 leaders takes place in June in Northern Ireland. --SPA 14:17 LOCAL TIME 11:17 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1096951
