Geneva, Rajab 17, 1434, May 27, 2013, SPA - The international community has "the responsibility to protect" Syrian civilians, UN human rights chief Navi Pillay said Monday in Geneva, according to a report of DPA. "Whenever their governments cannot or will not protect them, frightened human beings are dependent on the international community for protection and assistance," Pillay said at the opening of the UN Human Rights Council's summer session.
