OIC Chief Condemns Violence, Killings, Bombings in Libya

Jeddah, Ramadan 21, 1434, Jul 30, 2013, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, strongly condemned the continuing violence, killings and bombings in Libya, especially in the city of Benghazi. In a statement released here today, he strongly condemned the assassination of lawyer and a prominent political activist Abdulsalam Al-Masmari, who was coming out of the Mosque after the performance of prayer. He urged the Libyan people to put the interests of Libya in the security, stability and the building of democratic institutions in this transitional phase above everything else, stressing the need to achieve the legitimate aspirations of the Libyan people in the democratization and good governance. --SPA 13:15 LOCAL TIME 10:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1133453
