Harare, Ramadan 24, 1434, Aug 2, 2013, SPA -- President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF was just three seats shy of a two-thirds super majority in Zimbabwe's parliament on Friday, with 24 results in the national assembly still yet to be called, dpa reported. The African Union observer mission said that while there were some problems with the voter roll and with people being turned away from polling booths, it did not mean the general election failed to reflect the will of Zimbabweans. Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has declared the election a sham and said the party was disregarding the result Tsvangirai's party spokesperson told dpa that the MDC would contest the election results. The MDC would have seven days from when final results were announced to bring a case before the constitutional court. Independent Zimbabwean election observers this week said the voter roll concerns could jeopardize the credibility of the poll. -- SPA 22:09 LOCAL TIME 19:09 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1134383
