Nairobi, Jumada I 18, 1434, Mar 30, 2013, SPA -- Kenya's Supreme Court on Saturday unanimously upheld Uhuru Kenyatta's presidential election victory, and that of running mate William Ruto as his deputy, dpa reported. Chief justice Willy Mutunga said Kenyatta and Ruto had been "validly elected". The court ruled that the March 4 elections were conducted in a "free, fair, transparent and credible" manner. The court rejected challenger Raila Odinga's allegations of vote rigging. Odinga said he accepted the court's decision, but added that he regretted that it did not allow all the evidence "on the grounds that it was late". He told a news conference: "In the end Kenyans lost their right to know what indeed happened." But calling for unity in the country - which witnessed ethnic violence after a disputed election in 2007 - Odinga said: "Let us not allow the elections to divide us.
