KABUL, Afghanistan, Jumada II 15, 1434, Apr 25, 2013, SPA -- Taliban militants will free foreign hostages captured earlier this week in eastern Afghanistan as part of a prisoner exchange, UPI quoted officials in the region as saying. The hostages, who include Turkish engineers, were captured Sunday in Logar province after their helicopter made an emergency landing, Khaama Press reported Thursday. The Taliban captors proposed the prisoner swap during talks about the hostages, said Dr. Abdul Wali Wakil, the provincial council chief. Deputy provincial governor Mohammad Hashim Faizi said negotiations with the local Taliban members had been going on for the past five days without success. Faizi said the militants had brought the hostages back to the area where they been captured from a district in Nangarhar province where the foreigners had been temporarily transferred. --SPA 21:27 LOCAL TIME 18:27 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1102962
