Moscow/Cairo, Rajab 7, 1434, May 17, 2013, SPA -- United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon voiced Friday disappointment over Syria's refusal to let UN inspectors enter the country to check reports about the use of chemical weapons, dpa reported. "It is deplorable that the team could not visit Syria to do an investigation on the ground," Ban said after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Black Sea resort of Sochi. Russia supports the UN investigation, said Lavrov, expressing hope that an agreement between Damascus and the UN would be found, the Interfax news agency reported. The United States, Britain and Israel have said there is evidence that sarin gas has been used in Syria. -- SPA 19:35 LOCAL TIME 16:35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1111241
