Member of Afghan Peace Council Killed in Insurgent Attack

Kandahar, Afghanistan, Jumada II 21, 1434, May 1, 2013, SPA - A member of an Afghan peace council was killed Wednesday morning in southern Afghanistan with his bodyguard, an official said. Malim Shawali, of the quasi-governmental High Peace Council that seeks negotiation with Taliban, was killed when militants opened fire on his vehicle in Helmand province, said Mohammad Dawood Farhad, another member of the council, according to a report of DPA.
