Amman, Jordan, Rajab 9, 1434, May 19, 2013, SPA - Syrian activists say Damascus regime airstrikes and heavy shelling of a strategic town near the Lebanese border have killed at least 16 people, including the opposition fighters. The Opposition-held Qusair is home to about 20,000 residents and has been besieged for weeks by the regime troops. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says 16 people were killed Sunday in Qusair but that the death toll is expected to rise, according to a report of the Associated Press. --SPA 13:33 LOCAL TIME 10:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1111721
