Washington, Jumada II 24, 1434, May 4, 2013, SPA - U.S. President Barack Obama Friday began a two-day trip to Costa Rica, his first stop there as president. Air Force One touched town in San Jose Friday afternoon. Obama's brief stay in Costa Rica follows a visit to Mexico that focused on the economy, immigration, and combating drug trafficking and organized crime. In Costa Rica, the president will hold bilateral talks with President Laura Chinchilla and expanded talks with other Central American leaders. The president will also participate in an event with Costa Rican youth. Obama is the first U.S. president to visit Costa Rica since former President Bill Clinton did so in 1997. He will spend Saturday meeting with regional business leaders before returning to Washington. --SPA 10:26 LOCAL TIME 07:26 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1105852
