Sofia, Rabi'II 10, 1434, Feb 20, 2013, SPA - Bulgarian prime minister Boiko Borisov announced Wednesday the resignation of his government after days of protests against its policies. "After the last cabinet meeting today, I will submit the resignation of my government," Borisov told Parliament. He said the people should decide the shape of the new government, according to a report of DPA. He justified his decision by pointing to nationwide protests that have erupted in recent days against rising energy prices. Tens of thousands have been massed outside Parliament since Sunday demanding the government step down. Borisov's center-right cabinet took office in July 2009. Regular general elections were due in July. --SPA 11:54 LOCAL TIME 08:54 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1080236
