Washington, Rabi'II 17, 1434, Feb 27, 2013, SPA - An incorrect report from the U.S.-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan about the number of Taliban attacks last year will have no effect on President Barack Obama's timetable to withdraw troops from the country, the White House said Tuesday. The ISAF incorrectly reported a decline in Taliban attacks last year, with officials saying Tuesday that there was actually no change in the number of attacks on international troops from 2011 to 2012. The original report said that attacks declined by 7 percent. "The president has made clear repeatedly that as we draw down our forces and train up Afghan forces, we will turn over security lead to the Afghans progressively as we move towards the transition points that he has discussed and that NATO has committed to," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters traveling with Obama aboard Air Force One. "Afghanistan is increasingly capable of taking care of its own security and ultimately will be responsible for its own security. The president is committed to winding down that war and will keep to the timetable that he's announced with his NATO allies," Carney said. --SPA 11:44 LOCAL TIME 08:44 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1082487
