Colombo, Shawwal 13, 1432, Sep 11, 2011, SPA - Forty-four Sri Lankans heading to Australia illegally were arrested on Sunday by the Navy in a boat off the eastern coast of Sri Lanka, officials said. The illegal immigrants and a multi-day fishing trawler were detected off Kalmunai, 320 kilometres east of the capital, a naval spokesman was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA". The trawler had departed from the western coast of Negombo, the spokesman said, adding that it is believed the migrants boarded the vessel from a different location. --SPA 15:20 LOCAL TIME 12:20 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/923943
