Washington, Jumada Al-Awwal 08, 1432, April 12, 2011, SPA -- The White House on Monday was seemingly not too optimistic about the prospect of the cease-fire negotiated with Libyan leader Muammar Al-Gaddafi. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney's comments came after African Union (AU) negotiators met with Al-Gaddafi late Sunday in the capital, Tripoli, and said he accepted their proposal for a cease-fire with the rebels that would also include a halt to the three-week-old international campaign of airstrikes. "Our response to the 'cease fire' are actions, not words," Carney said of U.S. expectations from the Al-Gaddafi regime. Carney also said that the U.S. is "very aware" of the U.S. journalists missing in Libya, adding that the U.S. State Department is working to "facilitate" their recovery and return. --SPA 11:20 LOCAL TIME 08:20 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/882679
