Pakistani PM Gilani Leaves on a Four-day visit to China

ISLAMABAD, Jumada II 14, 1432, May 17, 2011, SPA -- Pakistan's Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani left here on Wednesday for a four-day visit to China. In a departure statement carried by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Gilani said relations between China and Pakistan date back to 60 years. Gilani who was accompanied by Ministers of Defence Ahmad Mukhtar and Law Minister Maula Bux Chandio. The Pakistani Prime Minister affirmed that China has always extended full support to Pakistan at all international fora and expressed the hope that his visit would further boost their defence and security cooperation. Gilani is expected to discuss bilateral political, defence and regional issues with the Chinese leadership. The Pakistani Prime Minister will hold meetings with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. The leaders would also review the status of the MoUs and agreements inked so far and are likely to set up a high level working group to ensure their swift implementations.
