Katmandu, Nepal, Rabi'II 9, 1434, Feb 19, 2013, SPA - Nepal's major political parties have agreed to form an interim government led by the Supreme Court chief justice and hold elections in June, likely ending a deadlock that left the nation without a fully functioning government since last year. The leaders of the four main political parties reached the agreement late Monday, said Narayan Kaji Shrestha of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal Maoist. The agreement is expected to be formally signed at a meeting later Tuesday where the leaders also would finalize the election date and the makeup of the new council of ministers. The parties want Supreme Court chief justice Khilraj Regmi to be the chairman of the council, according to a report of the Associated Press. --SPA 11:26 LOCAL TIME 08:26 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1079872
