New Delhi, Dhu-AlQa'dah 14, 1432, Oct 12, 2011, SPA - Myanmar President Thein Sein arrived here today on a four-day official visit to India, officials said. The President's entourage included 10 ministers of the government that took office six months ago, officials at Yangon Airport confirmed. The Myanmar president was scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday. He was also expected to meet Indian President Pratibha Patil, an official of India's Ministry for External Affairs said. The leaders were expected to review progress of various development cooperation projects, the scope for stronger trade and investment links and security issues, the officials were quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA". "India attaches great importance to its relations with neighboring Myanmar. The visit of the president, soon after his election earlier this year, would further consolidate the multi-faceted bilateral relations," a statement from the Indian External Affairs Ministry said. --SPA 13:15 LOCAL TIME 10:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/933551
