Pakistan Rejects Indian Concerns About the Safety of Its Nuclear Program

Islamabad, Rabi Al-Awwal 17, 1432, Feb 20, 2011, SPA -- Pakistan rejected today the statements of Indian National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon in which he had expressed his fears about the safety of Pakistan's nuclear program. A statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry this morning in Islamabad said that Pakistan is a nuclear state, and it is fully aware of its responsibilities towards nuclear technology and it is capable of ensuring the safety of its nuclear arsenal. "Moreover, Pakistan is working in cooperation with the international community to ensure security and stability in the region in addition to working with the countries of the region to promote regional growth and prosperity," the statement said.
