Washington, May 25, 2010, SPA -- North Korea's decision today to sever all ties with the South is "odd" and not in the best long-term interests of North Korea's people, Reuters quoted State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley as saying. "South Korea is one of the most dynamic economies in the world. North Korea is a failing economy even by their own admission," Crowley told reporters. "North Korea is unable to care for its citizens, it is unable to feed its people. "I can't imagine a step that is less in the long term interest of the North Korean people than cutting off further ties with South Korea." --SPA 21:34 LOCAL TIME 18:34 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/785150
