Washington, Shawwal 07, 1431, Sept 16, SPA -- The White House on Wednesday said that while there are no real specifics about who will meet during, or on the sidelines of next week's United Nations General Assembly, it is highly likely that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will meet with U.S. President Barack Obama. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that the three leaders are likely to meet at some point during the Assembly in New York. The U.N. meeting would follow the second phase in direct talks between the Israelis and Palestinians that are now underway in the region, under the guidance of visiting U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. "The president continues to believe...we are in the midst of...very serious discussions" about peace, Gibbs said, adding that both the Israelis and the Palestinians have "demonstrated serious willingness" to pursue peace. --SPA 12:05 LOCAL TIME 09:05 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/817539
