Washington, July 17, 2010, SPA -- National Security Advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama General Jim Jones visited Afghanistan to assess the security situation there, National Security Council Deputy Spokesman Benjamin Chang said on Friday. "General Jones visited Kabul on July 16 to meet with Ambassador Eikenberry, General Petraeus, and Afghan and international officials," Chang said in a statement released to members of the press. "He had just concluded a visit to New Delhi for meetings with Indian officials and took advantage of being in the region to make the brief stop.
