KIEV, Ramadan 23, 1431/Sept 2, 2010, SPA -- Ukraine's government moved towards boosting the power of new leader Viktor Yanukovich, saying on Thursday the Constitutional Court would rule on curbs imposed on presidential authority which it considers illegal. Justice Minister Oleksander Lavrynovich said his ministry had submitted a legal opinion to the Court on the curbs, which shifted some presidential powers to parliament in 2004, and the court was looking into the matter, according to Reuters. Procedural errors could serve as a basis for declaring the 2004 amendments void, he told reporters. "A failure to observe the procedure for reviewing, adopting and implementing (the law) is a condition on which a law as a whole can be deemed unconstitutional," he said. --SPA 00:10 LOCAL TIME 21:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/814736
