Cairo, March 17, 2010, SPA -- The Arab League has warned of the impending dangers of the current situation in the occupied East Al Quds (Jerusalem) in the light of the current confrontations between the occupying Israeli forces and Palestinian citizens and in the backdrop of Israel's inauguration of Hurva Synagogue (literally the Ruined Synagogue) near the Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa. The Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Sobeih said in a statement "We had expected the occurrence of such confrontations and we had warned Israel of the arrogant policy it pursues in Judaizing Al Quds (Jerusalem). He pointed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had made it clear that Al Quds (Jerusalem) is not a settlement but an Israeli land, which is highly deplorable. He referred to the continual Israeli illegal Judaization, like continuing settlement activities in Al Quds (Jerusalem), the siege of its indigenous citizens, the banning of prayers in the Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa and the right-wing Jewish extremists' storming the Aqsa Mosque and its vicinities. The issue of Al Quds will be treated as a separate item on the agenda of the upcoming Arab summit in Libya. He also noted that the previous resolution of the Arab summit to sever diplomatic ties with any country that moved its embassy to West Jerusalem, has succeeded in stopping any country from transferring its embassy from Tel Aviv to West Jerusalem. --SPA 11:20 LOCAL TIME 08:20 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/759515
