Washington, October 28, SPA -- President Barack Obama will meet Friday with U.S. military chiefs as he moves “toward the end” of his review of Afghanistan strategy, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Tuesday. Obama requested the meeting with the Joint Chiefs of Staff to hear its input on the Afghanistan strategy review, Gibbs told reporters aboard the presidential airplane as Obama flew to Norfolk, Virginia for a political event. The meeting with the heads of the military services shows “we are getting, certainly, toward the end of that,” Gibbs said, referring to the strategy review. “I think the president will take some time after these meetings to pick through what he’s heard, what we’ve all learned, and evaluate this process with what’s best for our country, what’s best for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and for the region as a whole,” Gibbs said. --SPA 13:16 LOCAL TIME 10:16 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/713533
