Amman, August 11, SPA -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Monday told his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh that Beijing supported the two-state vision as a solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. The two men reviewed the latest international efforts aimed atensuring a resumption of peace talks on the basis of relevant UNresolutions and the Arab peace initiative. "The Chinese foreign minister expressed his country's support for on-going international efforts that have the aim of readyingconditions conducive to the launching of serious negotiations in therun-up for accomplishing the two-state solution," the statement was quoted as saying by the German News Agency "DPA". For his part, the Jordanian foreign minister "underscored theimportance of China's role in the attainment of just and durablepeace in the Middle East, given its influence on the internationalarena as a permanent member of the UN Security Council."--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/691788
