SEOUL, July 18 (SPA) - The United States is ready tohold talks with North Korea if the conditions are right butwill also press U.N. sanctions to punish Pyongyang for itsnuclear and missile tests, a senior envoy for Asia said onSaturday. "We have to be clear that under the right circumstances, weshould be prepared to sit down with North Korea if they wouldabandon their nuclear ambitions," U.S. Assistant Secretary ofState Kurt Campbell said upon arriving in Seoul ahead of talkswith South Korean officials. "There have to be consequences for these provocativeactions so the United States is working in the internationalcommunity, with the United Nations, to put forward a robust setof sanctions and unilateral actions that are designed to send aclear message to Pyongyang," he was quoted as saying by Reuters.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/685393
