KABUL, July 19, SPA -- A civilian helicopter crashed at NATO's largest base in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, while aU.S. military helicopter made an emergency landing in theeast, officials said. It was not immediately known whether the helicopter crashat Kandahar Air Field caused any casualties. U.S. militaryspokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker said therewas no indication that insurgent fire was behind the crash. No other details were immediately released, the Associated Press reported. In the east, a U.S. military helicopter made an emergencylanding in Kunar province, the military said in astatement. Sidenstricker said no enemy fire was reportednear the helicopter.
